Resumen

Con el objetivo de satisfacer los grupos de interés y la organización, supply chain orientation tiene diferentes definiciones, modelos y terminologías. Algunos líderes empresariales y académicos, creen conocer la estrategia de SCO, pero una vez profundizan en la temática, concluyen que son temas relacionados con supply chain management (SCM). Estos términos, aunque son diferentes, corresponden a la intención de las empresas por visualizar e integrar sus procesos hacia la gestión de proveedores y de las relaciones con los clientes. Colombia ha mejorado 5 puestos en competitividad, pasando
de la posición 66 en el año 2015 al 61 en el año 2016 (Klaus Schwab; Xavier Sala-I-Martin, 2017). El escaso trabajo de investigación que se ha hecho en este tema, es una oportunidad para aportar en la mejora del desempeño organizacional. Según el ranking de ( Jean-François Arvis, 2016) para el mismo año, el país se encuentra tan sólo en el puesto 97 dentro 160 países, lo cual invita no sólo a analizar la situación de SCO en el país sino a conocer sus múltiples relaciones 

El propósito de este artículo es ofrecer una revisión sistemática de los aportes que a nivel mundial consideran que el SCO, es un camino adecuado para mejorar la productividad y la competitividad empresarial. Para ello se ha aplicado una metodología de revisión de referentes internacionales examinando autores representativos y sus principales contribuciones científicas, clasificándolas a partir de las definiciones clave y las respectivas orientaciones con interacciones tales como: hacia los proveedores, a la integración, a la cadena de valor, a los clientes, mercados y al desempeño. A partir de esta revisión se concluye que existe relación entre la cadena de valor y el mercado. Al respecto, (Min, S.and Mentzer, 2004) enfatiza que la cadena de
abastecimiento no trabaja de manera aislada con SCO y sugiere que se investiguen variables tales como confianza, credibilidad, benevolencia así como su correlacionamiento para el mejoramiento del desempeño organizacional.
