Percepción sobre la imagen corporal de mujeres con tratamiento quirúrgico por cáncer de mama: revisión integradora

Introducción: En la mayoría de las mujeres diagnosticadas con cáncer de mama se utiliza algún tipo de cirugía como parte del tratamiento. Desde el año 2000, se ha estudiado la imagen corporal en mujeres con cáncer de mama. Objetivo: Describir los componentes perceptivos, emocionales y conductuales de la imagen corporal de las mujeres tratadas quirúrgicamente para el cáncer de mama. Métodos: Se realizó una revisión integrativa basada en las propuestas de Whittemore y Knafl. Se consultaron las bases de datos PubMed, ScienceDirect, Biblioteca Virtual de Salud y Nursing@ovid, específicamente se buscaron artículos originales publicados entre 2015 y 2023. Resultados: Se seleccionaron 27 artículos y se encontraron afectaciones en los componentes perceptivos, emocionales y conductuales de la imagen corporal. Conclusiones: Las mujeres perciben que su imagen corporal sufre modificaciones después de recibir tratamiento quirúrgico para el cáncer de mama. Esta situación conlleva un deterioro de la satisfacción corporal, una transformación de la feminidad y de la interacción sexual, cambios de comportamiento y de la calidad de vida.
