Sobre el estatus ontológico del espaciotiempo. Una respuesta al realismo estructural.

Resumen

El problema del realismo sobre el espaciotiempo gira en torno de si es una substancia o una relación entre substancias. Para el realismo estructural óntico: “el espaciotiempo es una estructura real encarnada en el mundo”, donde la preeminencia la tiene la estructura matemática, de aquí su estatus ontológico. En este artículo configuro una respuesta a dicho realismo estructural, argumentando que la idea de una “metafísica de estructuras”, que da primacía ontológica a las estructuras por sobre los objetos, no logra evitar los inconvenientes de algunos aspectos básicos del realismo tradicional sobre el espaciotiempo.
