Ética da pesquisa e publicação científica: um desafio e uma proposta para cientistas e editores

Objetivo/Contexto: a pesquisa em geral e a pesquisa biomédica em particular devem ter a publicação científica como um de seus resultados obrigatórios, para sua visibilidade e melhor contribuição para a sociedade; no entanto, muitas vezes há um desequilíbrio entre os cuidados éticos da pesquisa e as considerações éticas da publicação. Essa diferença pode ter um impacto negativo direto sobre a credibilidade e a reprodutibilidade da primeira e as possibilidades de disseminação da segunda, pois é improvável que os editores deem carta branca a manuscritos com deficiências nesse aspecto.
Metodologia/Abordagem: foi traçado um paralelo bioético entre a ética da pesquisa e a ética da publicação, com base nos requisitos propostos por Emanuel (2008) para pesquisas envolvendo seres humanos.
Resultados/Descobertas: como resultado, são oferecidas diretrizes de verificação que servirão como ferramenta para que os pesquisadores aprimorem o conteúdo ético de suas publicações e para que os editores verifiquem o cuidado ético do que pretendem publicar.
Discussão/Conclusões/Contribuições: é importante ter um conjunto de diretrizes simples, práticas e amplamente divulgadas que andem de mãos dadas com as diretrizes que regem a pesquisa biomédica, o que ajudará tanto os pesquisadores quanto os editores a abordar as publicações sem problemas éticos e, assim, evitar a má prática na publicação. Recomenda-se também que os pesquisadores recebam treinamento específico em ética de publicação.
