Stanford ofrece una versión completa de lo que denominó el problema de las alternativas
no concebidas o nueva inducción. Este se ha convertido en un gran desafío para el
realismo científico. Psillos, en respuesta a Stanford, homologa la nueva inducción con los
problemas que surgen de la formulación husserliana de la Lebenswelt. El propósito de este
artículo es cuestionar la lectura de Psillos a partir de las dificultades de tratar la nueva
inducción a la luz de la Lebenswelt y la posibilidad de leer la Lebenswelt desde el realismo
científico, antes que desde el antirrealismo.
