Proposal for the evaluation of resources and capabilities in smes that manage knowledge

The purpose of this article, is to present a diagnostic instrument, that through the audit allows SMEs, given their particular characteristics, to identify and recognize their resources and capacities related to knowledge management. It was identified that there are instruments designed for large companies, but not for SMEs. The approach or methodological paradigm developed in this research was mixed. The proposed instrument was constructed from the organizational theories on resources and capacities, knowledge management models and the strategic perspectives of the balanced scorecard. This was validated with 10 entrepreneurs, which allowed structuring it with 58 questions distributed in perspectives: financial, customers, internal processes, and learning and growth.
