The initial size of companies and business survival
case of the commercial sector of Villavicencio

The strength of the business fabric measured through the survivability of organizations at the time of entering
the market, is an important element to analyze the success of companies in the commercial sector in the municipality of
Villavicencio. This article analyzes the variable initial size as a determinant of the probability of closure of an organization,
for this the dynamics of the business fabric of the municipality of Villavicencio is studied, through the application of duration
models it was sought to accept or reject the hypothesis raised. From the statistical analysis it is found that the companies
most likely to leave the market are microenterprises, concluding that to enter the market the acceptable size is that of small and medium-sized enterprises.
